Dear Chospticks Members,
A great big warm welcome and applause to our newly elected PR Director Danielle Yu, Social Director John Yang, Social Media Director Fiona Wu and our sub-committee team – Tian Pu, Aolifu Yu, Bob Chen, Elaine Lim, Ling He, Manling Chen,Mavis Sun, Nina Xue, Xinru Li, Chloe Hsu, Ann Huang and Andrew Stephenson! Whoohoo to our new big happy choppy family!

Maid Cafe
That’s right it’s a Maid Cafe. Chopsticks, Unimates, Oriental Tea Society and Chocolate society have got together and are giving you the chance to experience a Maid Cafe!
So what’s a Maid Cafe?
A Maid Cafe is where our committee and other members who have volunteered will be dressed as Maids and Butlers to show you guys a great time.
There will be FOOD! The food will consist of cakes and other small desserts for your pleasure. Drinks will also be served, choose from Hot Chocolate, Tea or fruit juice.
Various games are organised for the customers. Challenge the Maids and Butlers at what they are best at or compete against each other. Collect points by winning games in a bid to win the ultimate prize, a Maid Uniform! That’s right you can actually win a Maid Uniform!!
So how much does it cost to have a great day of fun, food, games and a chance to win a Maid Uniform?! FREE for Access Holders! That’s right it’s completely free if you have an access card. Do not fear if you don’t it is only a small price of $4 for non-access holders.
When: Week 6 Thursday (02/09/10) from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

AYNA Photo Scavenger Hunt
A FREE social networking and game event bought to you by the ‘Australasia Youth Networking Association’, a.k.a AYNA!
For this event, we are inviting young professionals from Westpac, Macquarie Bank, CBA, KPMG, and Ernst & Young (just to name a few) to participate in a team’s Photo Scavenger Hunt challenge! You will get the chance to work closely with recent graduates who are now in the workforce in a fun activity that showcases your teamwork skills. Then, there will be time to socialise and capitalise on new friendships formed during the process.
The winning teams will also receive IMAX tickets as prizes! As this event will involve taking digital photos, feel free to bring your own digital CAMERA, although one will be provided if any teams require it.

Our beloved Chopsticks members,
We, the committee, want to take a quick moment to welcome everyone back to uni for another semester, and to thank you all for being so wonderful. We hope you all had an exciting and fun Winter Holiday (or Summer, for those of you who went overseas).
There are quite a few things happening this semester. But to start off, we’ve already had a Semester 2 Welcoming BBQ on Week 1 Tuesday and Wednesday.

A second warm welcome after our hearty BBQ in first week is the popular and long-awaited Chopsticks Games Night on Week 2 Tuesday.
As with the tradition, there will be a variety of games of your choice including San Guo Sha, Twister, Poker, Mah-jongg, Uno and more, refreshments, friends you long to meet up and lots of laughters.
So come join us next Tuesday early evening!

Winter Holidays 2010!

Hello from the Chopsticks team!
We hope that all of your exams went well, and we shall sit here and clasp our hands together with the desire that we all receive the marks that we need… 
Really not kidding.
And so begins the Winter Holidays of 2010!! So Chopsticks members all around, those who are doing Winter School, going overseas or maybe even just sitting at home twiddling thumbs while waiting for the new semester… make sure you all stay safe and warm! Or cool… if you’re traveling to somewhere in the Northern hemisphere… Either way! 
Make sure you all come back to us in one piece, safe and sound!
And, when Semester 2 2010 does come around, be prepared for some more awesome fun, and bubbles of happiness that accompany our wonderful Chopsticks events!!! We’ve got quite a bit up our sleeve, that we can’t wait to share with you all… 
Remember, if you’re not a Chopsticks member, you should really consider becoming one Despite it being an Australian Chinese Cultural Appreciation society, this does not mean we aren’t multicultural!!
We look forward to seeing you all in the future!!

Charity Night Success!

Hey everyone!
Thanks to all of you who came to our Chopsticks Charity Night and took the initiative to ‘Beer-A-Hero’ =] We hope you all had a great night of music, magic, dance, pizza, alcohol… and fire! As the result of your support, we’ve already raised $242.75 (without yet taking USU funding into account) to donate to the Oaktree Foundation to fight against poverty. =D
As this Semester comes to a close, we wish you all the best for your exams! Stay tuned for bigger and better Chopsticks events next semester… and maybe even during the winter holidays! But for now… study hard! Thanks again for coming! Good luck and ADD OIL++ !!!
